For more than 45 years, SSI has been providing training, diving certifications and teaching materials to divers, SSI professionals, training centres and resorts around the world. Founded in 1970, SSI has grown to more than 30 service centres and is represented in over 110 countries with more than 3,000 international locations, with digital and printed documents in over 30 languages.
International recognition
SSI is recognised wherever you want to dive.
Since 1 June 2010, Scuba Schools International has been one of the few training agencies eligible for global ISO certification. Seven SSI programmes, five for divers and two for instructors, have certifications that meet international standards - ISO 11121 for Try Scuba Diving, ISO 24801-1 to -3 from Scuba Diver to Dive Guide, ISO 11107 for Enriched Air Nitrox and 24802-1 and -2 for Dive Control Specialist and Open Water Instructor. As a result, SSI certification cards for the relevant qualifications have carried the ISO mark ever since.
The global network of SSI
Scuba Schools International's global network is one of our organisation's greatest assets.
Scuba Schools International has grown thanks to the dedication of a number of enthusiastic divers.
SSI International: The international headquarters is where the important standardisation of SSI diving certification and training takes place.
This is where SSI training standards are set and the skills and techniques of SSI programmes are developed. We also produce the teaching materials here and translate them into numerous languages with the help of our Service Centres.
The SSI Service Centres: The SSI Service Centres supervise and support the SSI Dive Centres, Dive Resorts and Dive Professionals in their assigned areas.
SSI Dive Centres and Dive Resorts: This is an extensive network of professional businesses that operate as dive or freedive schools for the training of divers and dive professionals, and offer their customers a variety of dive destinations.
